W/C 11th Jan - We are now starting a New Year and last week we had a great week. Tuesday - David S has started to be a regular attender of HC again. David has been involved with us for about 3.1/2 yrs. David is very curious about the Lord and wrote to me from prison. This Tuesday we had a real wonderful sense of the Holy Spirit at work as David S, Gary B as well as Tony (Geordie) and several others sat for 1 hour listening to a film called the Perfect Stranger. It's about a dinner engagement with Jesus and lady who doesn't believe set in today's world. The Gospel is put over wonderfully. You could have heard a pin drop during and after. All of them were asking questions. Please pray for David S still bound by addiction for the Lord to free him and restore his heart. Also, for Gary B who regularly attends, his heart is so broken as he has been in care most of his life. His biological father comes in to us occasionally -Darren, he also has addiction problems and has bowel cancer. Darren's sister was murdered many years ago. Gary desperately wants a loving relationship in his life. Please pray for this family especially Gary. On Christmas Eve he came in and had nowhere to go for Christmas, he rang his foster mother whom he calls mum and asked if he could come over for Christmas Day and she wouldn't have him. Gary laid on the floor with his hood over his head and cried. It's just so so sad how the enemy has had a free reign in these families. Please don't let it continue - please pray. Tony (Geordie) - well known alcholic has surprised us all. Since Christmas he has drastically cut down his drinking, a friend of his has allowed him to live with him and he looks like a different person. Please pray for the continued work of the Holy Spirit in Tony's life . Wednesday - Michelle, Abbey, Charlie and several others came in we had a wonderful time of fellowship together. Please pray for Michelle and her family, Liam, Julie & Wayne, Micheal all have addictions problems. Thursday - Gary B, Lee B & Ricky T all came to the prayer meeting at the beginning of the afternoon. We laid hands on them all and Lee and Ricky asked to be baptised at Bentley Baptist Church on the Sunday, this is now my church. Ricky T has attended HC for a number of years on and off, and has been in Betel on a couple of occasions for several months. At the end of the pm once again the presence of the Holy Spirit was so powerfully there as we listened to the song He Led me to His Banqueting Table. Gary B asked me to pray for him again, the Lord gave me a picture of Father God looking at a framed photograph of Gary with such love. Gary sat for about an hour just letting the Lord minister to him with his love. Another young man who attends Jason was there, he has just started to use heroin and was deeply involved in the jehovah's witnesses. Please pray for Jason's freedom,. The Lord told me to ask him to say Jesus is Lord and he could not say it, you could feel and see the struggle with darkness. Well Sunday am came and Ricky came to be baptised he also brought his flat mate Joshua (18). They listened to wonderful testimonies of 3 men who were to be baptised and when Peter Amos said is there anyone else here who would like to give their life to the Lord and be baptised they both RAN to the front. The church was packed and it was truly a sight to see, everyone was in tears. I felt the Lord say this was the first of many. Bentley Baptist Church have offered help with Ricky and Joshua, God bless them. Pleased pray for Ricky T whose Mother died in his early teenage life and his father was over strict with him. Ricky has a block and is very quiet then, if he is cornered, in any way, explodes. Joshua's father left him as a child and he is seperated from his mother. They both want a job. Please continue to pray for us. Marion |
HOPE CENTRE W/E 28TH NOV 2009
Returned on Tuesday after a wonderful holiday in the sun refreshed !!
We have had several of our family come in to see us this week who we haven’t seen for quite a while. It would be wonderful if you could pray for some of the needs.
Andy - Used to come in every week, we haven’t heard from him for months. Andy has mental health issues and will not engage with any services as he thinks they are all out to get him. During last winter he slept in the woods with a severely infected arm. Andy has been travelling about to London and surrounding areas. He returned last week and came to see us. Andy looks extremely thin and says he will live rough. Please pray for Andy for safety and freedom.
Mary Mary who you will remember was doing extremely well slipped and went back on heroin after she had no where to live and found out some shocking family truths. Mary came in Wed to tell us she was back on track and going back into New Beginnings on Tues next week. Please please pray for Mary she needs complete freedom and healing.
Paul Paul was a regular attendee at Hope Centre both him and his girlfriend Rebecca. They manage to get accommodation and had a little boy Levi. They brought Levi in to see us after his birth 2 yrs ago just after Christmas and told me that they had had a wonderful Christmas with Rebecca’s family and it was the first Christmas Paul could remember like it. They would call in to see us occasionally. This week Paul came in he looked terribly thin, they had lost their first house through trouble in Hyde Park and were in a different one. Please pray for this family they really do need our prayers for protection, provision, restoration of relationships with family members , freedom from this lifestyle and salvation.
Ricky Ricky was a regular at the Hope Centre and had been in Betel of Britain 3 times. Ricky has a mental age of about 10. His Mother died tragically when he was a teenager, his Father now has gone away and he hasn’t seen him for 6 months. Ricky didn’t look too bad and has a flat but really is all alone in Askern. Please pray for Ricky for a job, for mental health, for provision, for his heart healed, for good friends and for salvation
Michelle, Liam, Craig and Scholer All need a breakthrough. They were all living in one house and they are now evicted.
Sarah Sarah has engaged with Hope Centre since we opened and comes and goes. Sarah came I this week to tell us she also is going back into New Beginnings. Please pray for Sarah for breakthrough and salvation.
Steve M Steve has been coming to see us for a few weeks. Steve used to help at the Plot and has been in New Beginnings for 11 months. When he left he listened to the wrong people and fell again. Steve is going back into New Beginnings and is starting to be really interested in Jesus. Please pray or Steve.
Steve C Steven has an amphetamine addiction. Steven is in and out of prison all the time and just wonders about aimlessly. Please pray for freedom for Steven and deliverance from all evil.
Nicola Nicola called in to see us with her daughter. I haven’t seen Nicola since before I hurt my foot in March. She is having another baby in 6 weeks and Steve is in prison awaiting sentencing in January. Please pray for this family
Kayleigh Kayleigh rang the Hope Centre from Newhall Prison on Tuesday, she is in there for about a year. I had a short chat to her because we were so busy. Please pray for Kayleigh she no longer has contact with her Mother and is in a relationship with a young man who is in prison for 4 yrs. Both broken kids grown up. Please pray for Kayleigh to cry out to God and break free.
Adrian Adrian Damien’s Father was taken into hospital this week. The cause was through long term drug abuse. Please pray for this family
Becky & Jono Are in touch via phone on a regular basis. They are wanting to get married next year. Jono is helping at a Peer Support Group and when he has done 30 hrs he will be able to charge £25 for his ‘services’. Becky goes for an interview to help at Barnsley Drug Service to help with refreshments on Monday. They are doing extremely well. Becky acknowledges God’s hand in all this and says she has never been as happy and has this ‘ragging’ love inside her. Wonder if that’s the Holy Spirit ???? Please pray for the Lord’s continued work in their lives and protection and healing for them both.
And so many many more. Please continue to pray for the work here , we do value your prayers but most of all the Lord does. Marion
25th september 2009 Some latest news from Hope Centre Would you please ask people to continue pray for Aaron and his family. Also G B who is about 22yrs old and been in foster care throughout his life. G. is once again on the streets with nowhere to live and nobody to go to. He looks so sad and lost. He owes some back rent at M25 from months ago and they won't consider accepting him until it's paid. He has no way of raising the money and nowhere else to live. G. is seeing the Doctor tonight at the Garage for subutex. G. has been touched by the Lord everytime he comes in. Please ask people to pray for G. Sh. a well known street girl has been coming in to us for the past 2 weeks and has had massive things happen to her in her life. Like being raped by her uncle at 11yrs old and the uncle hanging himself. Like her mother abusing her. Like waking up and finding her boyfriend of 12 years dead at the side of her and never allowing herself to grieve. Like dabbling with Satan and the occult. Sh. gave her life to the Lord day, and prayed a pray to ask for forgiveness for dabbling with the occult. The Lord gave me a picture of her as a baby and Him holding her so proud and spoke wonderful words of love over her. Then another picture of her in school writing at her desk with a tree picture on the page. She said that she knew where this was and that it was in a geography class where she was humiliated by the teacher. I asked her to visualise this scene and she saw Jesus stood behind her looking at her work with such pride. When Sh. left her whole countenance had changed. God's so good. Please pray for continued freedom for Shelley and her protection. Also St. who came in about an hour later and the Holy Spirit fell again in the room. St. is in such a mess. His Mother died when he was 10. St. gave his life today in front of several other people and the Lord gave me a picture of him stood on a bridge near water. He started to cry and said that his Father would beat him and pour water on him. He said " I have been abused by my Father", he had never said it before. His Heavenly Father then spoke into him how special and loved he is. His whole counternance changed. What a loving Father we serve. Please pray for St. he is such a quiet broken man. Last week CH started to preach in the Hope Centre and the Holy Spirit fell. The Lord placed a pot of treasure in my hand and I asked Him what is this Lord. He said "It's me" and I knew I had to hand out this treasure When the Holy Spirit lifted from C., I told them about the treasure and prophetically placed into every hand a piece of this treasure which I told them was Jesus and asked if they would accept it, every one took it and said yes, the air was electric. Praise God. The Lord is on the move and He is going to surprise us who and where, He is going to fall Every blessing Marion |
A. came in quite ill on Tuesday with serious problems with his chest. He was reluctant to go to the A & E Dept as the wait is sometimes 3hrs+ and the call of his addiction controls him. So we took him to the Dove Centre who agreed to see him without appointment. The Doctor he saw asked him how long it had been since he had a GP and he said about 2-3 years and the name of the GP was Dr Weeks. The Doctor said to him I'm Dr Weeks!! This GP had helped A. when he was under his practice in Hatfield and had got him a job working with cars with someone he knew. Dr Weeks is giving A. a full medical tomorrow Friday and arranged for a chest x ray immediately. The Lord's Favour ?? A. thinks so.
Last week, on Wed, I spoke about the Father's Love and showed a DVD with a testimony about how the Father had revealed his love to a prophet called Isabell Allum. A young man called S., whom Philip met at Hope Centre, couldn't cope and I found him in the back room. He shared how his Father had bullied him and taken away his self worth. He was so distressed he ended up in the foetus position. It is so heart breaking to hear story after story, but so humbling that each one can come and receive love and prayer. Please pray for Steve he is being threatened where he now lives and just kept saying I just want to be left alone.
I have told all these stories to show important your prayers are and also how the Lord is answering them
HOPE CENTRE W.E. 7TH MARCH 09
Well it’s quite a few weeks since I have sent out a prayer letter.
Have been having quite a difficult time over the past couple of months. Due to shear amount of people and all the ‘baggage’ they bring.
As ever lots of people accessing Hope Centre, some new but mostly our regulars. Some in the same place some in a different place. This work is wonderful but very very draining. Please pray for my team and for me for strength and focus.
Please pray for Nicola, Steve and baby Reagan – their house went up in flames last night due to a chip pan fire. They had just managed to get a home together and were being allowed to keep Reagan. I feel both especially Steve still struggling with addiction
Please pray for Aaron’s mother Lynn who is quite seriously ill at the moment and won’t accept treatment. Pray for Aaron and her other 4 children
Please pray for Ben as he goes into New Beginnings next week and so wants to start a new life. Pray for the grief and unforgiveness Ben holds as his mother dies just before Christmas and his brother has totally rejected him.
Pray for another Aaron (19) who has just started to access Hope Centre this week who came in specifically for prayer today and wouldn’t accept food. His mother (46) has just been admitted to hospital and he is burdened with guilt about his lifestyle and the effect on his mother. Aaron is one of 8 children.
Please pray Carl H who came to Hope Centre so drunk and drugged he couldn’t walk. He is covered in scabs and his clothes are ready to walk off his body.
Pray for Jamie C who came in to see us today after several months and appears to be doing very well.
Please pray for DJ who looks quite ill but always manages to bring something with him to help us.
Please pray for Craig R still struggling with alcohol addiction
Please pray for Tony & Michelle, both alcoholics, who have been barred from Hope Centre for a while and are now back and behaved very well today. Tony has been quite ill and has cut down on his alcohol consumption – more Lord.
Please pray for Ray for truth in his life
Please pray for understanding with our neighbours, who are Christians, but really don’t want us there.
Please pray for Paul C just out of prison yesterday. Paul has a badly infected leg through drug use and once again has been released onto the streets. Also Chris B who today left prison, also discharged onto the streets.
Please pray for Gary B a 19yr old who has accessed HC for a number of months. He is just surrounded with the drug scene, been in care all his life. People who are bullies are after him. Gary found out recently who is father is - Darren who is a drug/alcohol user who is dying with cancer. Darren is well known on the streets in Doncaster. Gary has nothing and no-one and is in need of appropriate accommodation and favour from the Lord
Please pray for Kev who gave his life to the Lord this week and shared how when in his cell reading the Bible the presence of the Holy Spirit came to him. That every time he picked the Bible up it spoke straight into his life. Kev is from a large family, his father has 20+ children to lots of women. Kev has a girlfriend who is in prison called Charlie and is hoping they can make a new start on her release. Charlie used to come to HC about 2 yrs ago before she met Kev.
A lovely thing happened when were leaving yesterday which took the seriousness of things away.
A while ago a Chinese young man used to come to us called Keith. Keith had special needs but loved to come in especially to see Danny !! Well we haven’t seen him for a while and he rolled up with his key worker. He’d come for my name and address so he could send me a Christmas card !! Keith is so lovely and innocent. He is living with 2 other young men now away from his family, he wanted his independence. Keith looks very happy and I feel he will ‘call’ in to see us again.
So many the list is endless, but the Lord is faithful to us and His presence is always with us. He said to me a few weeks ago as I cried out to Him “My Grace is sufficient for you” – and it is, but can I have more strength. Marion
HOPE CENTRE W/E 4/12/08
It was great to enjoy a day of fellowship and news sharing last Saturday on Volunteers Day. So good to share time with like minded people. Craig and John also said how much they enjoyed it and were encouraged by everyone’s love and kindness.
Tuesday
Quite a cold day so we were met by quite a few. Peter and Adrian waiting wanting a lift to M25 with an unboxed stereo system. Sorry lads.
The flat above us is causing some concern as lots of young people visiting it, around 15-18 yr olds. Things don’t seem quite right. Please pray for the 2 lads in the flat, they are ex Barnados lads for the Lord to protect them and direct them.
We had a lovely surprise as Damien, whose girlfriend Claire was found murdered in January this year, came to visit us. We haven’t seen Damien for a while. Damien brought a Christmas Card in. It reads “ Just would like to thank you for all the support you gave me when I was in prison to help deal with the situation with Claire, not only that but the help and support you gave me and Claire when we were both coming to the Hope Centre, and she would say the same. Thanks & Merry Christmas Lots of love Damien” Damien looks great, please pray for him for protection and healing
Wednesday
Nicola & Steve brought their baby Regan in to see us. Regan was born 8 weeks ago and has a cleft pallet. He has been in hospital since his birth and they have visited him every day. They now have him home and move into their new home on Monday. Nicola has so longed for her own home and a while ago Hilary had a picture of Nicola pegging clothes out on a line and felt that all she wanted was a home. Well she has one on Monday. Please pray for protection for this family
So many of the same faces visit every day please pray for Billy, Nina, Aaron, Chris, David H, Tim Paul, Carl, Jamie O, Chris & Stuart, Andrea & Dave, Andy, Steven C, Lee, Mark, Gary, Haley, Jason, Mick, Peter & Adrian, Jono & Becky, Mark B, Andy, Craig R, Liam, Michael, Julie & Brian and so many more. Please pray for a break through in their lives.
Also received letter from Steve H in Betel still doing wonderfully. Says
“ I can tell you something I should have come here a while ago this is the making of me”. He shares all the scriptures that are speaking to him. When I write to Steve I always mention different ones he knew and he and his leader are praying for them. Especially Spider (Ian) who is very dear to Steve. Spider (Ian) cancer has returned.
Please pray for Steve for protection and for Spider (Ian) for healing from all his sicknesses and wounds.
Steve is also praying for Charlie who comes from a Christian background and is a firm member of Hope Centre. Please pray for Charlie he is the Prodigal Son
Chris B came back to Hope Centre on release from prison, back on the streets in the freezing cold, nowhere to sleep or live once again. We were able to give him a sleeping bag donated to us. Please pray for Chris he is a really nice person and so needs a breakthrough in his life.
Thursday
Busy day very cold and wet. Nice sense of peace in the room.
Gemma called in to see us with her little girl Michaela and her twin sister Lianne. Gemma looks wonderful and is very positive as ever, telling us everything is well with her and Mark. Please pray for Gemma and Mark, for Mark to find employment and for the Lord to lift every stronghold from him.
Craig E, who used to come to Hope Centre and has been in New Beginnings for quite a while, came to visit us today. Craig was so proud to tell us of the courses he is on and how well his life is going. Craig is doing Voluntary Work as well. He and another lad are starting with a new project, where they will do a breakfast on Sat am along with access to computers etc in a Centre in Balby. Well done Craig. Please pray for Craig for restoration of his relationship with his little boy
Craig told us that Jamie C is now in New Beginnings. Please pray for Jamie
Jono shared with us how the Night Shelter had decided during the cold weather to let an extra 2 people in to sleep wherever. Also he told us that the night before a man came to the Night Shelter in crisis wearing a dressing gown, ¾ pants, no shoes or socks and people there rallied round for clothes for him. The new Night Shelter is not to be opened now until possible March, another Winter on our streets with so many homeless and in distress.
A man collapsed outside the Hope Centre today, he was so drunk and lost, didn’t even know where he lived. The Community Police saw him and sent for an ambulance for him and said he had been laying in the cold elsewhere for 3 hrs. They all came into Hope Centre in the warm as it took 30 mins+ for an ambulance to come.
Lord heal our nation, our streets are saturated with brokenness and hurt. People lost and in distress without hope or purpose. People surviving and coping with their pain the best way they know how. Marion
